Carter Haunted House

In the famous and quiet little town of Plains, Georgia, home to our 39th U.S. President, Jimmy Carter, is a house with a very interesting reputation.  Although abandoned today, the Carter family actually called this house "home" in 1956.  Although this makes for a very interesting subject, long before they moved in, this house was already made famous by its other inhabitants...the ghostly ones!
This old plantation style house was built somewhere around 1850, in Plains, Georgia.  It was elaborately constructed with a wide center hall, many fireplaces, and twin living rooms.  It was the west living room that was said to be the center of paranormal activity.  Such activities as knocking on the doors, doors opening and closing by themselves, windows crashing, and footsteps were often reported in this room.  Sheets were also snatched off a bed when this room was later converted to a bedroom.  Other occurrences also took place such as unexplained footsteps on the attic stairs, and the image of a woman dressed completely in white drifting from the direction of the nearby cemetary.  There was also rumored to be a little white dog that would come up on the porch only to vanish if anyone tried to touch it.  For years the causes of these occurrences went unexplained.  What restless spirit roamed this property and why?
Finally, one day a secret was atlast revealed.  As the Carter children were playing in the attic, which housed two twin fireplaces, each facing a window, they noticed a loose brick in the hearth of the western fireplace.  After that, they soon discovered that the bricks and boards up underneath could be lifted up to reveal a secret room suspended between the attic and the "haunted room", perhaps large enough to hide three men laying down.  The ghostly activity reports were obviously related to this hidden room that had remained a secret for more than a century.  Perhaps the lady in white had hid soldiers there during the Civil War, or maybe it was related to events that took place with the Underground Railroad.  The other fireplace was later discovered to also have a hidden room.  The reason for these rooms remaning hidden for so long was because of the downstairs closets being sealed shut, that were right underneath them.
Finally, what secrets does this house hold?  Whose spirit still roams the halls?  Who was hidden and possibly even died in that secret room?  Perhaps these are answers that only the supernatural tenants will ever be able to answer.  Until then, this haunted house will forever remain a mystery.

I have circled and blown up what resembles faces in these pictures taken in front of the home.

This house is private property and not open to the public.  However, it can be viewed very easily from the road.

We've yet to explain this weird spot on the barn.

It was not visible to the naked eye, and is not the sun, which was shining from another direction.

This is the cemetary near the house.
